HHCSR - Camp Wakonda

NYLT is a six-day training experience to help Scouts become better leaders. NYLT uses the methods of Scouting to teach modern leadership skills in an outdoor setting. Participants gain first-hand experience with a youth led Troop - the NYLT course is delivered entirely by youth. Adults are present but almost entirely behind the scenes.

There is no limit on the maximum number of scouts a unit may send.

To attend a NYLT course, a youth must have the following qualifications at the start of the course:

Be a registered youth member of a BSA Scouting unit.
Provide a current BSA Health and Medical Record form parts A, B, and C.
All Scouts need a unit leader recommendation and the desire to participate in this learning experience.
Scouts BSA members (male and female) need to:

be at least 13 years of age and not yet 18 years of age
completing Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops recommended
be first class rank or higher

Venturers and Sea Scouts (male and female) need to:

be at least 13 years of age and not yet 21 years of age
completing Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews (or Ships) recommended
one year of camping experience recommended

After completing the online registration - download and complete the Supplemental Form under the resources tab, including the requested signatures, and return the application to Kristen Wolf, Course Director, at krispy0630@gmail.com and Crystal Davis, Admin, at crystaljdavis@gmail.com
